Dragon Artists Qualify for State

Several Carroll ISD art students are advancing to the state level following a recent VASE competition hosted at Keller ISD’s Timbercreek High School. VASE stands for Visual Art Schoalstic Event. The competition on Saturday, Feb. 25 was at the district and regional levels.

After an interview, written response and artistic evaluation from a trained VASE Juror, score sheets were tallied and students were awarded a score of Superior – IV, Excellent – III or Good – II.

The following students qualified for state:

  • Sara Faris, CSHS – 1 photo
  • Rachel Lemme, CSHS – 1 photo
  • Joelle Nagy, CSHS – 1 sculpture
  • Amy Turner, CSHS – 1 photo
  • Morgan Franklin, CHS- drawing
  • Gracie Lanham, CHS
The State competition will be held at Bryan High School in Bryan the weekend of April 13-14.

The following students also received outstanding marks from judges. Carroll High School Art Teacher Monica Lapierre-Hayslip announced the results of her students who participated in the VASE competition:
