Nadadores Get Spirited Sendoff To Olympic Trials

Southlake hosted a pep rally to send current North Texas Nadadore swimmers Aaron Greene, Brett Ringgold, Jonathan Roberts and Ted Singley off with flags, cheers and autographs to the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.

Friends, family and teammates cheered on the swimmers waving American flags on the pool deck at the Carroll ISD Aquatics Center. The swimmers made their walk along the deck between the cheering crowds to Olympic rings set on the bulkheads dividing the pool. Nadadores coach Bill Christensen congratulated the swimmers and wished them luck. The trials will be held Monday, June 25 through Monday, July 2.

All preliminary heats except for the fastest 2-4 will be webcast live at www.usaswimming.org. NBC Sports Network will broadcast the fastest preliminary heats on tape delay. All finals will be broadcast live on NBC at 7 p.m. (Central).

Greene, Ringgold, Roberts and Singley all spoke at the pep rally, thanking friends, family and teammates for their support and talked about how excited they are to compete in the trials.

Former NTN swimmers Claire Singley and Katie Meili will also compete in the Olympic Trials. The event was followed by cake and autographs from the Olympic Trial swimmers. The swimmers begin competition next week.

Greene will compete in the 100 Backstroke on Tuesday and 200 Backstroke  Friday. Ringgold swims the 100 Freestyle on Thursday and the 50 Freestyle on Saturday. Roberts will try to earn a spot in the 400 Individual Medley on Monday and the 1500 Freestyle on Sunday. Singley will swim the 400 Freestyle on Monday, the 200 Fly on Sunday and the 1500 Freestyle on Monday.

Former swimmer Meili will compete in the 100 Breaststroke on Tuesday, the 200 Individual Medley on Wednesday, the 200 Breaststroke on Friday and the 50 Freestyle on Sunday. Claire Singley will compete in the 400 Individual Medley on Monday.
