Southlake Night at the Ballpark!

This Friday, August 24th, is Southlake Night at the Ranger Ballpark in Arlington. Mayor John Terrell will be on the mound for the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. to kick off the game between the Rangers and Twins.

Accompanying the Mayor for the first pitch will be Miracle League player and Southlake resident, Sam Kline. Sam is eleven years old and has been playing baseball since he was two.

Miracle League is an organization that offers children alike with special needs the unique opporunity play the game of baseball. It has given Sam the chance to continue pursuing his love for the game in a safe environment.Former Rangers catcher, Jim Sundburg, will be catching the first pitch for Sam.

It will be a special night for the City of Southlake. Sam represents children who deserve the ability to play baseball regardless of special needs. In the completion of Phase II of Bicentennial Park, Southlake will have its’ own Miracle Field to help children like Sam chase their dreams. The field is scheduled to be ready for games in September 2014.
