Bob Jones Nature Center Brown Bag Book Club

Your Brain on Nature: The Science of Nature’s Influence On Your Health, Happiness & Vitality By Eva M. Selhub & Alan C. Logan

This book is a great resource for anyone wanting to improve the health, especially mental health, of themselves, their family, students, community, or business.

The authors delve into the subject of the “mentally rejuvenating and uplifting power of nature” that poets ad nature writers have been telling us about for ages.  The authors look at the science behind our relationship with nature, presenting all the latest research that answers the questions “to what extent is our relationship with nature imprinted in our neurons” and “to what extent does nature immersion and deprivation work for or against the individual?”It is highly recommended to keep a journal about your own connection to nature as you read and discuss this book.
