Carroll Dragon sophomore Reed Brown proved he is one of the state’s elite distance runners last weekend.
Brown won the 3,200 and 1,600 meter distance events at the Class 6A Region I meet at the UTA’s Maverick Stadium. He finished the 3,200 meters with a time of 9.14 and finished in 4.17 in the 1,600. He advances to the UIL Class 6A state track and field meet in Austin on May 14-16.
The Dragons’ 4×400 team finished third — the team was comprised of Tyson Smiter, Tariq Gordon, Devontae Humphrey-Wade and Kam Duhon.
