It’s football playoff time! Are you ready? The Southlake Police Department is and we’re offering a few tips to help make your experience a safe and enjoyable one.

As you probably know, the first playoff game between the Southlake Carroll Dragons and the Cedar Hill Longhorns is this Friday evening November 13th at 7:30 p.m. at Dragon Stadium.

Playoff games are typically held in area college stadiums large enough to handle twenty thousand or more people. This year’s game is being held at Dragon Stadium, so large crowds and heavy traffic is expected and you will need to plan ahead.

The Southlake Police Department is preparing for the anticipated heavy traffic by adding additional officers to help make travel as smooth as possible. Drivers will need to follow officer’s instructions and traffic patterns, designated by strategically placed orange cones.

SLPD is urging everyone who plans to attend the game to plan ahead.

  • Allow yourself plenty of time and leave your home early
  • Watch for police officers directing traffic
  • Follow all additional traffic signs and strategically placed orange cones to help traffic move smoothly into and out of Dragon Stadium.

Watch for more information as game day approaches.
