Around the Horn: Lady Dragon Hitting Attack Blasts Trinity

The Carroll Lady Dragons kept their winning streak alive Tuesday with a 11-3 victory against Trinity in District 7-6A action.

The Lady Dragons won their sixth consecutive game and had 16 hits led by Gaby Garcia’s 4-for-4 performance. Madison Cashon added two hits and three RBI. Six Lady Dragons had a multi-hit night. Cami Green earned the victory on the mound. The Lady Dragons are now 7-2 in district with three games remaining in the regular season.

Carroll (18-9) returns to action Friday at 7:15 p.m. at Colleyville Heritage.

Canterino Shuts Down Heritage
Rice signee Michael Canterino pitched six scoreless innings and led the Dragons to a 5-3 victory Tuesday against Colleyville Heritage at Dragon Field. Colleyville Heritage was previously undefeated in district. Carroll won its fifth consecutive District 7-6A game and travels to face Heritage on Friday.

Canterino allowed one hit and had seven strikeouts. Carroll (14-6-1 and 5-2 in district) broke open a scoreless game in the fifth with two runs and added three in the 6th. Steven Marks went 2-fo-3 with two RBI.
