5 Reasons Southlake Water Meters are Getting Smart
Starting May 17th, the City of Southlake will start a several month-long water meter enhancement project. Below are the five things you need to know about project. Even more information can be found here: CityofSouthlake.com/WaterMeters.
1. Summer is coming and the City is about to start on a summer-long water meter project that will help you keep an eye on how much water you are using every day.
2. Your water meter will soon be enhanced with cellular technology that will make you a water user know it all giving you instant access to your water account online or on your smart phone. You can even set up alerts to notify you when use exceeds a certain amount.
3. Why are we doing this? To help residents and business owners get a better idea of how much water is being used by a household or a business. This will hopefully help reduce your water bill and help preserve this precious natural resource.
4. Installation of the new technology will start early next week and will conclude sometime in August. As installation crews make their way through neighborhoods, you will be notified about installation. About 30-days later, the new account will be ready for your use.
5. One more thing, this change is coming at no additional cost to you, it’s part of our commitment to create a more transparent look inside how we do business.
