Dragons Succeed at UIL Academic Regional Meet

An impressive group of Carroll ISD students competed in the UIL Academic Regional Meet at UTA last weekend, April 22 and 23.  The following students and teams will be advancing to the state competition in Austin May 23-26.

Computer Science, coached by Linda Woessner – Addison Miller placed 25th.

Current Events, coached by Caitlin Frank – 1st Place Team, advancing to state.

  • Billy Wade – 3rd Place, advancing to state
  • Evan Clary – 8th Place
  • Cal Naughton – 11th Place
  • Aneeqah Naeem – 30th Place

Editorial Writing, coached by Natalie Brown – Kelsey Gordon placed 4th, alternate to state.

Feature Writing, coached by Natalie Brown – Nora Graham placed 1st, advancing to state

News Writing, coached by Natalie Brown – Julianne Yu placed 3rd, advancing to state

Journalism Team, coached by Natalie Brown – 1st Place

Informative Speaking, coached by David Brown – Sahaj Singh placed 4th, alternate to state

Persuasive Speaking, coached by David Brown –
