Southlake Police to Hold Active Shooter Training Exercise

The Southlake Police Department wants to make residents aware that it will be conducting an active shooter training exercise at Sabre headquarters in Southlake on Saturday, May 14 and May 21.

The training exercise will take place from 1:00 p.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. Residents may see a large contingency of police and SWAT vehicles and ambulances converge on Sabre.

The Southlake Police and Fire Departments frequently hold training exercises such as these to assess our capabilities and readiness to ensure the protection of our citizens.

Police Chief James Brandon says, “Our officers are trained to respond to a threat in any situation. Training exercises like this one provide an excellent opportunity for a mock emergency of this size and scope.”

Please share with your family and friends who live near Sabre to let them know this is a training exercise and there is no cause for alarm. If you have any questions please contact our police department at (817) 748-8239.
