The Carroll Forensic Team competed at the Texas Forensic Association state tournament March 10-12 at Flower Mound High School and came away with numerous awards.
200 students qualified for the state tournament in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Senior, Patrick Graham placed 3rd and Junior Michael Kohm placed in the top 32.
In Congressional Debate, Junior, Arvind Venkataraman placed 3rd; Sophomore, Megan Schippmann placed 8th and Freshman, Kevin O’Brien advanced to the top 24. Junior, Paul Samuel, and Freshman, Daniella Cohen advanced to the semi-final session. Junior, Timothy Dominguez advanced to the top 32 in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking and Sophomore, Megan Schippmann advanced to the top 12 in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking, and Sophomore Nick Lowrimore advanced to the top 24. Senior, Keaton Maddox advanced to the top 12 in Poetry.
Each event had at least 100 of the states best and ten of the eleven Carroll ISD students were named all state.
