Dragon Band Best in Class

The Dragon Marching Band competed against 28 other bands from across north Texas at the Golden Triangle Classic marching competition in Denton on Saturday, October 2. In the preliminary round, the Dragon Band earned the “BEST IN CLASS” trophy in their large band classification. Against all bands, the Dragon Band earned a tie for first place in Overall Visual Effect, and a fourth-place finish for Overall Music Performance. Additionally, the Carroll band scored a 96 and a 95 out of a possible 100 for their 2 marching scores.

One judge commented, “A very challenging marching drill – outstanding execution.”

Advancing to the finals round later that evening against the top eight bands from the preliminary rounds, the Dragon Band improved on their first round performance scores, scoring 892 points – for a fourth-place finish overall.
