City: Pardon Our Dust and Noise in Town Square

Many of the streets in Town Square are receiving a little attention from the City’s Public Works crews.  Weather permitting, parts of the square will be the site of re-paving efforts in the evening and overnight hours.

“This effort is part of keeping Town Square a premiere destination,” said Deputy Public Works Director Chuck Kendrick.  “We realize that it will be dusty and noisy which is why we are trying to limit our work to the evening and overnight hours.”

Streets receiving attention include Grand Avenue, Civic Place, State Street, and Fountain Road.  The effort is part of a larger City project which focuses on the public areas of the 11-year old mixed-use community.

Other improvements include sidewalk repairs and landscaping enhancements in public sidewalk areas, Summit Park and McPherson Park.  The street and landscaping makeover is scheduled for completion by mid-November just in time for the City’s annual Home for the Holidays event.  The sidewalk improvements are expected to be completed after the holidays.
