Trustees Approve Contract For Senior High Project

Carroll School Board members voted unanimously Monday to enter into a contract with Ratcliff Constructors LP of Addison for construction services associated with additions and renovations at Carroll Senior High School.

Seven general contractors submitted competitive sealed base proposals and alternative proposals, according to Dr. Derek Citty, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services. Project Architect John Haugen of Natex, Architects, Inc. told Trustees that Ratcliff was awarded the contract based on price, references, quality of sub-contracts and on-time completion history.

The construction project at Carroll Senior High includes a new art facility, weightroom expansion, lockerrooms, restrooms and office space for the athletic program and an expansion at the CISD Aquatics Center .The hard construction costs for the project without fees is $8,669,700, just under the budget estimate.

Ratcliff recently completed new schools and renovations for the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, Frisco ISD and Arlington ISD.

Voters in Carroll ISD approved the Senior High additions/renovations as part of the May 9, 2009 school bond election. The election included projects at every CISD campus and Dragon Stadium. Substantial completion at Carroll Senior High is expected July 15, 2011.
