The American Cancer Society will host speaker Dr. James Mackey with Southlake Oncology to present the latest information regarding prostate cancer. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Dr. Mackey is also with the Speaker’s Bureau for the American Cancer Society.
Other than skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in this population, behind lung cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates in 2010 approximately 217,730 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in the United States. Approximately one man in six will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
