The largest high school speech and debate tournament in the nation was held at The Glenbrooks in Chicago over the weekend of Thanksgiving break. With over 200 of the nation’s top Lincoln-Douglas debaters, Carroll Senior Patrick Graham placed in the top eight by advancing to the quarter-final round. Patrick has been invited to participate in Montgomery Bell Academy Round Robin, which is considered one of the premier events in the debate community, during Jan 7-9 in Nashville,TN.
In Congressional Debate, students Nick Lowrimore, Paul Samuel and Megan Schippmann received bids to the Tournament of Champions at the University of Kentucky and Paul Samuel placed 17th out of more than 200 entries.
Keaton Maddox advanced to the top 28 in Prose/Poetry Interpretation out of more than 100 entries and will be participating in the George Mason University Round Robin for Interpretation this weekend in Virginia.
