Orange Barrel Alert – Road Construction Briefs

Southlake Boulevard Improvement Project Update

TxDOT suspended construction on the median and deceleration lane construction during the holidays.  Beginning the week of January 3, 2011, TxDOT will return to work.

Median construction will begin east of Davis Boulevard and will continue to Meadowlark Lane.  Once the deceleration lane at Brock Drive is complete, the contractor will complete the medians from Jellico West to Davis Boulevard.  This will allow for no more than two permanent lane closures at any time during construction.

During this time irrigation will be installed in the medians between Pearson Lane and Watermere Drive.  This construction will take place with the help of daily lane closures between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  The lanes will be opened back up to traffic after 3:00 p.m. each day.
