Two Dragons Named All-State

Two members of the Carroll Dragons football team were named Class 5A All-State by the Associated Press.

Senior kicker Mac McGuire was named to first team after going a perfect 10-for-10 on field goals and 44-for-44 on extra points. McGuire carried on a long tradition of outstanding kickers at Carroll.

Senior cornerback Shaun Hoagland was named to the second team after an outstanding season leading the Dragons in a variety of ways. Hoagland was a big-play spark and also played a vital role at receiver and special teams as a returner.

The All-District 7-5A list was also released and Carroll quarterback Kenny Hill was named Offensive Newcomer of the Year. Hill was also honored as the Dallas Morning News’ All-Area Newcomer of the Year.
