Southlake Tailgate Party Kicks-off February 5

With less than two weeks until THE BIG GAME, the countdown is also on for the Southlake Tailgate party on Saturday, February 5, at Frank Edgar Cornish, IV Park in Town Square. Hosted by the City of Southlake in celebration of Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium, tailgating starts at 2:00 p.m. and event kick-off is at 5:00 p.m.

The Tailgate Zone, located just outside the main entrance to the event area, is where serious tailgaters will be showing off their skills. Bring your lawn chairs, grills and tailgating gear for this Southlake-style football tradition:

  • The Tailgate Zone opens February 5 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Tailgate spots are available on a first come, first serve basis
  • Only one spot per vehicle is available
  • Award for best “Southlake Tailgater”  will be named!

At 5:00 p.m., the main event area opens featuring a biergarten atmosphere with live music and entertainment, and football-themed activities. The official radio station of the Southlake Tailgate is SportsRadio 1310 The Ticket. Norm Hitzges, Dan McDowell and Mike Rhyner, on-air hosts for the popular station, will be live at the Southlake Tailgate to mingle with fans and inject some “sports fun” into the event.

And what is a tailgate party without food? Some of Southlake’s best restaurants in Town Square and beyond are throwing up a tent and bringing their snacks and swigs to the party for all to enjoy. Participating restaurants include:

  • The Cheesecake Factory
  • Brio
  • Taco Diner
  • Copeland’s
  • Campania
  • The Feedstore BBQ

The Southlake Tailgate party will put on its own halftime show with live entertainment from some of the best bands in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex:

  • Spellbound
  • TruBone
  • Petty Theft, Tom Petty Tribute band

The Southlake Tailgate is free admission to the public. For additional information about this event and other Super Bowl-related activities happening in Southlake, go to
