Carroll Basketball Sweeps Rival Coppell

The Carroll boys’ and girls’ basketball teams returned to District 7-5A play with key victories Tuesday at rival Coppell.

For the Lady Dragons, it was a battle for sole possession of first place. Carroll earned a 50-39 victory and moved to 18-5 overall and remains perfect in district at 4-0. Kayla Reinhart led all scorers with 17 points and her Lady Dragons’ teammate Jenelle Jenkins added 10. With the victory, Carroll coach Teri Morrison earned her 500th career victory. In the boys’ game, the Dragons earned an impressive comeback victory knocking off Coppell 45-42 for their first district victory. The Dragons trailed by 12 points at halftime but rallied and held the Cowboys to 15 points in the second half. Carroll was led with 13 points apiece from Max Berman and Will Brown. Ray Crockett added 11. The Dragons improved to 11-8 overall and 1-1 in district. Read more details on the boys game at ESPN Dallas.

Both Carroll teams host Keller Central on Friday night starting with the girls’ game at 6 p.m. It will also be Senior Night as both teams will recognize their senior players.
