Carroll Basketball Teams Split With Keller

The Carroll Dragons boys’ basketball team stayed in first place with a victory last Friday at Keller 50-42. Carroll (16-8) is tied with rival Coppell in District 7-5A.

Carroll had three scorers in double figures led by Max Berman’s 12 points. Ray Crockett had 11 and Will Brown had 10. The Dragons jumped to a fast start and led 17-8 after the first quarter and widened the lead by holding Keller to five points in the third quarter.

This week, the Dragons play at Northwest on Tuesday before a showdown at home against Coppell on Friday. Both start times are 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Lady Dragons stumbled and suffered their first loss in District 7-5A last week. Carroll fell to Keller 30-26. The Lady Dragons fell to 22-6 overall and remain in sole possession of first place in district at 8-1. Monica Pillow and Kayla Reinhart both scored seven apiece to lead the Lady Dragons. Jenelle Jenkins added six.

Carroll plays at Northwest on Tuesday and Coppell on Friday. Both start times are 6 p.m.
