The Carroll Lady Dragons’ basketball team rebounded from its first loss in District 7-5A by knocking off Northwest on Tuesday. The Lady Dragons won 47-31 improving to 23-6 overall and 9-1 in district.
Carroll was led by Jenelle Jenkins and Kami Mickens. Both players scored 10 points apiece and Monica Pillow added eight. The Lady Dragons, who host Coppell on Friday at 6 p.m., raced to a 13-2 start in the first quarter and allowed just 16 points after three quarters.
Dragons Fall To Northwest
The boys’ team suffered just its second loss in District 7-5A, falling to Northwest 55-36. Both losses have come against Northwest, as the Dragons fall into a tie for second place with the Texans at 6-2. Carroll (16-9 overall) hosts first-place Coppell on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Dragons won the first meeting between the two teams.
Against Northwest, the Dragons were led by Grant Jolly’s 18 points and Will Brown chipped in 11.
