The annual Physicians Breakfast, hosted by Carroll Medical Academy, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Wesley Hall inside White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake. The breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. followed by student rotations to the various health and medical professionals.
About 25 professionals from several medical related fields attend the event. Last year, more than 75 students and 36 physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals attended (pictured left, below).
This is the fifth year the Carroll Medical Academy has hosted a physician breakfast and Carroll students say the event has helped expose them to potentially new career opportunities. Organizers say the breakfast is one of the best learning experiences provided by Carroll Medical Academy for the students.
The Carroll Medical Academy is a magnet program through the Carroll Independent School District where students interested in a medical career are offered intensive math and science courses. This program is offered for grates 9 through 12 at Carroll Senior High School.
