Dragon Debate Success

The Carroll Forensic team has returned home from Atlanta, GA and Emory University with a commendation to be admitted into the Barkley Forum at Emory University.

The Barkely Forum is an honorary appointment in which only 5 schools are admitted each year and admittance is based on past performance and overall forensic success on the national circuit. Carroll has become a nationally recognized school not only for its athletic programs, but also for its success in the academic community.

This year, Arvind Venkataraman (pictured far right) placed 7th in Congressional Debate and received a gold Barkley Forum key and a bid to the Tournaments of Champions at the University of Kentucky. Patrick Graham (near, right)placed in the top 32 for Lincoln-Douglas debate and has already received 3 prior bids to the Tournament of Champions.

Five members of the Carroll Forensics team will participate in the Southlake Rotary Club 4 Way Test Speech Competition Friday, Feb. 11 at Timarron Country Club. The group also plans to attend an event at Harvard the following week.
