City Closed February 1st

City of Southlake offices are closed today, February 1st, due to the winter storm and hazardous weather conditions.  Emergency services are not affected and emergency responders are continuing to help as needed, but residents are being encouraged to stay off the roads.

“Unless you really need to be somewhere, please play it safe and stay home,” said Police Chief Robert Finn.

Event and Meetings Status

The City Council meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Southlake Town Hall will be rescheduled to Wednesday, February 2, 2011.  The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. and will take place in the City Council chamber.  To see the continued meeting agenda please click here.

The joint Parks Board and Southlake Parks Development Corporation meeting scheduled for this afternoon at 4:30 pm has been canceled.

Teen Court is closed on Tuesday, February 1st. There will be no court session this evening. If you scheduled to have your case heard, we will contact you to reschedule. If you are due to complete today, you will be given an automatic 1 week extension to turn in your timecard. For more information about Teen court, please click here.

Duncan Disposal informed the City that solid waste and recycling pickup is suspended for Tuesday, February 1, 2011.  Duncan will evaluate conditions tomorrow morning (2/2/2011) for a possible makeup day.

City Public Works crews have been working with Southlake DPS since 5 a.m. monitoring roads for snow and ice.  Crews will be laying down sand as appropriate.
