City Closed, Friday 2/4; Drivers asked to stay off roads

Updated 11:15 a.m.

Due to inclement weather conditions, City of Southlake offices are closed for Friday, February 4, 2011.  The City Council meeting which was postponed to tonight has been canceled.  Look to www.MySouthlakeNews.com regarding the items scheduled to be heard on the February 1st agenda.

The City’s Public Works department have stopped sanding the roads (except at the request of Southlake DPS) until the snow stops falling.  According to crews in the field, drivers are having a hard time finding the roads since the snow and ice are deeper than many roadside curbs.   Drivers are asked to stay off the roads as much as possible.

Duncan Disposal has canceled service for Friday, February 4th.  Duncan has informed the City they will evaluate road conditions later today to possibly re-establish service tomorrow (2/5) for Tuesday/Friday customers.  The City has put together a question and answer page regarding the winter storm and trash and recycling pickup.  Click here for more information.

The Southlake Tailgate celebration will still take place.  Big plans are in store for a great party.  Get more information at www.SouthlakeTailgate.com.
