Despite the rain on Wednesday (2/23) the paving component is complete in the City’s Continental Boulevard and Byron Nelson Parkway improvement project.
Currently, Continental provides only one lane east and west of Byron Nelson. Now that the paving is complete, Continental will be re-striped to provide for two eastbound and westbound lanes. The addition of the new lanes is expected to alleviate a significant portion of the traffic backup during the morning and afternoon peak traffic periods which has been backing up due to the four-way stop condition at the intersection. Crews will begin activities at 9:00 a.m. will cease at approximately 2:00 p.m.
The striping of the new lanes should begin on Monday (2/28) after the morning peak traffic period. All work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, March 4.
