Southlake Goes Green for a Day

Southlake and area residents are invited toSouthlake Green Day on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm in Southlake Town Square’s Rustin Park. Get Your Green On! is the theme for this year as Rustin Park will be transformed into an environmental showcase of demonstrations, exhibitors and products focusing on how residents can go the extra mile to be green. The event is free to the public.

Southlake Green Day is sponsored by GreenFellows, Inc., a Southlake-based non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about going green. “We want Southlake Green Day to be a point of connection to learn about the many ways to be environmentally friendly, how to save money and invest in a sustainable future and improve daily living by going green,” says GreenFellows, Inc. president and event founder, Audra Lewandowski.

Residents can expect to see the latest energy-efficient solutions for the home and business, what and how to recycle, how to compost and grow organic gardens, and much more. Entertainment will be provided by Radio Disney and prizes, including Apple iPads, will be given away.

Southlake Green Day is being partnered with and sponsored by Carroll Independent School District (CISD).
