Council Hosts Gas Drilling Workshop & Discussion

The public is invited to a Town Hall Meeting hosted by Mayor John Terrell and the Southlake City Council on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, to discuss the rules and regulations which govern natural gas drilling.

The meeting, which will take place in the Town Hall Council Chamber, will focus on the issue of gas drilling in Southlake and will feature comments by Southlake City Attorneys Allen Taylor and Bryn Meredith, and a public question and answer session.

“This workshop is an opportunity to create a common understanding of gas drilling governance,” said Taylor.  “The discussion will focus on the law and not on specific applications so that Southlake residents understand what the Council can and cannot do when asked to make decisions on these types of issues.”

The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m.  Overflow seating will be available on the third floor of Town Hall.  Those who can’t attend the meeting can watch it online: www.CityofSouthlake.com/SouthlakeVideoOnDemand.
