Southlake Blvd Construction Moving Ahead

As spring break approaches, construction is moving forward on the enhancements to Southlake Boulevard.

Median Construction

Jagoe Public, the contractor for the TxDOT median and deceleration lane project has moved back west of Davis Blvd. to complete the median construction between Watermere Drive and Davis Blvd.  Permanent lane closures within the Davis Blvd. to Watermere Drive construction area are anticipated to remain through the week of March 7, 2011.

Southlake Blvd. (FM 1709) daily lane closures (9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.) between Davis Blvd. and Meadowlark Lane are expected to continue on as needed for installation of irrigation and landscaping.

Beginning the week of March 7, 2011, the contractor will continue to move from west to east and will begin work on the medians from Meadowlark Lane to several hundred feet east of Waterford Drive.  Permanent lane closures within the construction area will be in place for approximately 4 weeks.

Parents, students, and staff of Carroll Senior High School should take note that this construction area will be adjacent to Carroll Senior High School.  Drivers should allow for extra time during their commute over the next several weeks.

Deceleration Lane Construction:

The deceleration lane at Brock Drive is now complete and all permanent lane closures at that intersection have been removed.

Construction of the deceleration lane at Bicentennial Drive is currently on-going.  Construction and permanent lane closures are anticipated to continue at this location thru mid-March.

Beginning Friday, March 4, 2011, the contractor will begin work on the deceleration lane for the Lake Crest Subdivision.  The eastbound outside lane of Southlake Boulevard will be closed from Shady Oaks Drive to Lake Crest Drive for the duration of construction at the intersection.  The construction time for this deceleration lane is expected to take about four weeks.
