Fire Services Receives Gas Well Training

Chesapeake Energy will be providing gas well training to all North East Fire Department Association (NEFDA) cities this week (March 10, 11, and 12) in order to help local fire departments understand their role in gas well emergency response.  The training will include a lecture and discussion portion covering site development (from pre-drilling through equipment removal), site impact, and emergency response roles for local fire departments—as well as site visits of active gas wells to illustrate the working functions of the gas well sites and potential response issues and concerns for the local fire departments.  It is also expected that XTO energy will provide a similar training to Southlake Fire services in the coming months, in preparation of the drilling sites being developed locally.
