Softball: District 7-5A Competition Begins

The Lady Dragons’ opened District 7-5A action on Tuesday with a 14-3 victory against Fossil Ridge. Kelsey Mann was the winning pitcher for Carroll, which improved to 6-8 on the season. Top hitters included Alexandra Schneider, Samantha Schneider, Mattie Schirle and Katelyn Vinson…The Lady Dragons play at Keller Friday at 7 p.m.

Baseball: Great Start To Mid Cities Tourney

The Dragons’ baseball team began the Mid Cities Tournament on Thursday with two impressive victories. Carroll knocked off L.D. Bell 8-1 and Richland 12-1 and improved to 5-2 on the season…Two outstanding pitching performances came from John Curtiss and Kyle Bailey. The leading hitters for the Dragons were Shaun Hoagland, Patrick McClendon and Stephen Tanksley…Carroll faces Paschal at 4:30 p.m. Friday at L.D. Bell and Trinity at Trinity on Saturday at 10 a.m. Carroll’s finla game of the tourney will be at 3 p.m. Saturday vs. Lamar at L.D. Bell.
