One of Southlake’s most anticipated annual events, Art in the Square, is less than one week away! Featuring more than 140 professional artists, the three-day art festival will take place April 15, 16, and 17 in Southlake Town Square. Admission is free to the public.
Hosted by Southlake Women’s Club, Art in the Square is the organization’s primary fundraiser with funds going to support local charities that serve women, children and families throughout Northeast Tarrant County, including APEX Arts League, Battered Women’s Foundation, Carroll Education Foundation, Community Storehouse, GRACE, Metroport Meals on Wheels, Rocky Top, and Tarrant County Area Food Bank. Since its inception in 2000, Art in the Square has raised more than $1 million dollars.
This year’s artists come from all over the country, as well as several international artists, including Keith Andry,Steven Potts, Marjolyn Van der Hart, David Chappell, JoAnne Brooks, Richard White,and Keun Park. Works include 2D medium, 3D relief and sculpture ranging from the traditional bronze to outdoor metal to multimedia decorative sculpture and photographic art. In addition, area high school students will participate in a juried “Youth Art in the Square.”
