12th Annual Art in the Square Takes Place April 15-17

One of Southlake’s most anticipated annual events, Art in the Square, is less than one week away! Featuring more than 140 professional artists, the three-day art festival will take place April 15, 16, and 17 in Southlake Town Square. Admission is free to the public.

Hosted by Southlake Women’s Club, Art in the Square is the organization’s primary fundraiser with funds going to support local charities that serve women, children and families throughout Northeast Tarrant County, including APEX Arts League, Battered Women’s Foundation, Carroll Education Foundation, Community Storehouse, GRACE, Metroport Meals on Wheels, Rocky Top, and Tarrant County Area Food Bank. Since its inception in 2000, Art in the Square has raised more than $1 million dollars.

This year’s artists come from all over the country, as well as several international artists, including Keith Andry,Steven Potts, Marjolyn Van der Hart, David Chappell, JoAnne Brooks, Richard White,and Keun Park. Works include 2D medium, 3D relief and sculpture ranging from the traditional bronze to outdoor metal to multimedia decorative sculpture and photographic art. In addition, area high school students will participate in a juried “Youth Art in the Square.”

This year’s theme, A Cause to Celebrate, will offer something for the entire family:

  •    Over 140 professional artists
  •    A local youth juried exhibit
  •    Emerging artists
  • A tribute to the arts on the main stage featuring the famous entertainment icons from the bygone 25 years
    •    Le Bistro with international cuisine
    •    Art off the Vine, an experience sampling the very best of wines
    •    NEW King and Queen Pub tent
  • Live entertainment, both local talent and professional acts, will take the gazebo stage throughout the festival
  • Children’s activities to include Kid’s Korner, an area for young children is being sponsored by Cook Children’s and The Zone, an area for tweens and teens is being sponsored by Children’s Medical Center

  •    Friday, April 15th: 4pm to 10:30 pm
  •    Saturday, April 16th: 10am to 10:30pm
  •   Sunday, April 17th: 11am to 6pm
