If you haven’t jumped on the Carroll Dragon Hockey Club bandwagon, now would be the best time. The Dragons reached the championship game of the High School Hockey National Tournament recently in Illinois.
The Dragons fell to New Tier High School of Illinois in the final 3-0. Last year the Dragons struggled at the national tournament but came home this year with a second-place trophy and confidence of an impressive run to the title game. One of the Dragons’ highlights came from Tim Hennessey, who produced an outstanding winning goal in the second overtime against Omaha Jr. Lancers High School from Nebraska. Hennessey ran up the boards and into center ice and fired the puck into the top of the goal for the winning shot and celebrated the quarterfinal victory.
