Tennis Teams Net District 7-5A Titles

Both Carroll tennis teams won District 7-5A titles last week at Coppell. The Lady Dragons earned 16.5 points and finished well ahead of second-place Coppell with 7.5 points. Brittaney McCasin and Meredith Hope won first place in doubles and Melissa Tran finished fourth in singles. Carroll’s mixed doubles were first and second. Jack Learmonth and Kristen Rutherford defeated Eshan Dave and Lauren Rutherford in the final.

The Dragons won the district title with 15.5 points, just ahead of second-place Coppell with 12.5 points. Austin McCasin won the district title in singles. Ben Talley and Colin Alexander were second in doubles and John Woolridge was fourth in singles.

Carroll qualified 10 of a possible 16 players for the Class 5A Region I tournament April 18-19 at Texas Tech’s McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock.
