Dragon Track & Field Earns District 7-5A Championship

The Carroll Dragons boys’ track team earned the District 7-5A championship and is sending 12 athletes to the Region I track and field meet in Lubbock.

Carroll scored 151 points as a team, five points ahead of second-place Denton Guyer. The following Carroll athletes qualified for regionals:

Johansson, Alex           800m (1st) , 1600m (2nd)

Gilley, Trevor                 1600m (2nd)

Sansone, Joe               3200m (2nd)

Sullivan, Nate               3200m (3rd)

Melocik, Nick                 300H (3rd) , 4×400 (1st)

Williams, Peyton           High Jump (1st) , 4×200 (2nd)

Stroop, David                 4×200 (2nd)

Wallace, Britton             4×200 (2nd)

Holmes, Sabian            4×200 (2nd) , 4×400 (1st)

Namdar, Roman           400m (2nd) , 4×400 (1st)

Kemp, Corey                   High Jump (2nd)

McGuire, Mac                  Alternate

Weigel, Ryan                  Alternate

The regional track and field meet will be held Monday-Tuesday, May 2-3 at Texas Tech University’s Fuller Track.
