Dragons Knocked Out Of Playoffs By Plano

MCKINNEY – The Carroll Dragons’ baseball season came to an end Saturday afternoon against Plano.

The Wildcats knocked off the Dragons 3-1 to sweep the Class 5A Region I quarterfinals at McKinney Boyd High School. The series was moved from Coppell due to Friday’s rain.

Plano won the series opener Thursday night at Coppell 9-5. Carroll held a 5-0 lead heading into the top of the seventh. The Wildcats rallied with a nine-run inning and handed the Dragons their first loss in the playoffs.

Carroll finished the season 29-8 and earned the District 7-5A championship. The Dragons will lose 18 seniors off this year’s team. Returnees for next year include third baseman Ben Sego, infielder Darien McLemore, left-hander Tyler Alexander and outfielder/infielder Jack Stone.
