Update: All setup for Relay for Life Southlake has been delayed until 6:00 p.m. due to heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area. Relay For Life Southlake will be Friday, May 20-21 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. at Carroll High School located at 800 White Chapel Boulevard in Southlake. To date, 120 teams have raised more than $107,000 for cancer research. More than 1,600 participants have signed up to be on a team for the all-night fundraiser on the track behind Carroll High School. More than 6,000 people are expected to attend the Carroll ISD/ American Cancer Society co-sponsored event.
Time is running out but individuals interested in creating a team can do so by visiting the Relay For Life website by clicking here. There will be a final team captain’s meeting Wednesday, May 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the library of Carroll High School. The meeting will cover important information and last minute details about the May 20 event. Minors wishing to spend all night at CHS must have a signed parent form on file by Monday, May 16. Forms may be submitted the day of the event but parents must sign the form in person.
Relay event volunteers are still needed; individuals wanting to lend a hand during the event can click here to sign up.
All Relay participants will need to plan for parking. On site parking will be limited to permit holders. Free shuttle busses will be available to participants who park at designated remote locations. Shuttles will be provided to and from Dragon Stadium, Dawson Middle School and Eubanks Intermediate School campuses and White’s Chapel Methodist Church (east parking lot). Shuttles run from 4:30 p.m.- 11:00 p.m. Friday, May 20. A final shuttle bus will run Saturday morning for all-night participants in need of a return ride to their vehicles.
This is the second year for Relay For Life Southlake. 5,000 people participated in Relay For Life Southlake 2010, raising more than $221,000 for cancer research.
