Join the City of Southlake’s Community Services Department for the 4th annual Summer Kickoff on Saturday, May 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  at Southlake Town Square.  This free event will include demonstrations from summer camp/class instructors, games, live entertainment, bounce houses, giveaways, concessions and more.  New this year, sign up for your favorite summer camps and programs on site.

Dig Up a Good Book with the Southlake Public Library’s 2011 Summer Reading Club and enter to win a free one week art camp from Studio Art House, as well as many other great prizes.

Visit with Building Inspections for events tailored toward summer safety; whether in the home, pool or just rolling around town, kids and parents can learn valuable tools to stay safe over the summer.

Finally, the City’s Planning Department invites families to participate in an activity called “What’s in Your City?” Kids, armed with markers, pens and crayons and boxes will learn about various uses of land and buildings around them by choosing to decorate small boxes etc. and place them in their “Box City.”

“This is event is a great way to discover all of the fun things going on around town this summer,” says Special Events Coordinator Perry Glaze.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to kickoff summer with the City of Southlake!
