Showcase in the Square: A Father's Day Drum & Bugle Corps Event

APEX Arts League and The Crossmen invite North Tarrant County families to experience an amazing showcase of brass and percussion talent at “Showcase in the Square!,” a Father’s Day drum and bugle corps event to take place in Southlake Town Square on June 19.  The event will feature performances from San Antonio-based, drum and bugle corps, The Crossmen, as well as The Vigilantes, Forte, and Frontier.

The concert will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at Rustin Park, in front of Southlake’s Town Hall. Although the event is free to the public, donations will be accepted to support both APEX and the participating corps. Following the performances, local restaurants will sponsor a “Meet & Greet” whereby interested musicians can learn more about the corps experience.

The Crossmen is comprised of 150 performers who excel in brass, percussion or color guard. Crossmen spend the summer learning, performing and competing with a production that combines music, theatrics and pageantry. All performing corps are members of Drum Corps International (DCI), a global nonprofit organization promoting music education and entertainment.

At “Showcase in the Square!”, The Crossmen will be showcasing their 2011 program music as a preview to their 2011 Drum Corps International tour that will end at the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis. For more information about the Crossmen, please visit www.crossmen.org.
