Three newly elected Carroll School Board Trustees were administered the oath of office during a special-called meeting May 25 at the Administration Center. The Board then took the opportunity on June 6 to reorganize and elect a new slate of officers. They include President Read Ballew, Vice President Sue Armstrong and Secretary John Thane.

Incumbent Craig Rothmeier, Place 1, and Sue Armstrong, Place 3, were among those Trustees sworn in for another three-year term after being re-elected to their posts on May 14. Voters also chose Place 2 candidate Fred Stovall to serve a three-year term. He joined Rothmeier and Armstrong during the swearing-in ceremony in May.
Stovall grew up in Euless and graduated from Trinity High School in 1984. His mother a classroom teacher, Stovall ran his campaign as an independent dad for fiscal responsibility and a strong community. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1994. Stovall is currently a partner of Patton Boggs LLP, a national law firm headquartered in Washington D.C.
The newly elected Trustee and his wife, Ginny, have two children – a son Ethan who is a kindergarten student at Durham Elementary and a daughter Reagan who attends preschool at Durham Elementary. Stovall is a member of the district’s Budget & Finance Committee.
