Sharyn Crownover, owner of Sharyn Crownover Allstate Agency in Southlake, was named 2010 Volunteer of the Year by the Southlake Chamber of Commerce for her many contributions and hours of service. As a business owner for 22 years and a Chamber member for 12 years, she has achieved success on many levels and now helps other businesses to do the same.
Q: What is your greatest business accomplishment?
A: I became an Allstate agent in Keller, Texas in 1989. I opened my own Allstate Agency in Southlake, Texas in 1999. We offer auto, home, life, IRA, annuities, and supplemental benefit insurance policies.
Q: What do you like most about doing business in Southlake?
A: I have enjoyed the growth of the community and the relationships I have developed over the last 12 years.
Q: What are your top three business priorities this year?
A: Retain current client relationships, grow my agency with new clients, and continue to develop additional relationships with the business community.
Q: What is your customer service philosophy?
A: Tell your customers every time you talk to them how much you appreciate their business and protect their families and their assets, while providing solutions to save them money.
Q: What is best business advice you’ve ever received?
A: When you help others get what they want, you get what you really need. Honest intelligent hard work is always rewarded.
Q: What have you found to be the best benefit of the Chamber?
A: Networking together to build relationships and friendships with other business owners and sales professionals.
Q: As the 2010 Volunteer of the Year, describe your involvement/activities with the Chamber.
A: I have been a facilitator for the Southlake Chamber of Commerce Noon Networking Leads Group for five years; volunteer at numerous Chamber functions; and recruit new members for Chamber membership.
