Since late June, a burn ban has been in place for Tarrant County, and the City of Southlake due to increasing drought conditions and low humidity that have created a high risk for fires.
The City of Southlake Community Services Department would also like to remind park users that the ban extends to all Southlake parks. Park-goers can still grill outdoors but they must use the permanent grills located on the park property when grilling at Southlake parks.
When using the grills, Southlake’s Fire Marshal David Barnes says to use charcoal only to help contain any embers that usually escape the grill when using wood.
Residents who see open burning or witness careless acts with fire should call 9-1-1. If you have questions about Southlake Parks please call the Southlake Parks and Recreation Department at 817-748-8019 for more information.
