Bicentennial Park Scavenger HuntStarts October 1st!!

Bicentennial Park has just completed its first phase of renovations and we want Southlake residents to go see the new improvements! You will have to use your detective skills, quick wit, and careful observations in order to answer the scavenger hunt questions.

The hunt will start on October 1st after the Park’s new Ground Opening in late September.  The Scavenger hunt questions, rules and prizes will be posted on www.southlakeparksandrec.com. The first entry with all of the correct answers will receive the grand prize, while all other correct entrees will be placed in a drawing for separate prizes from local Southlake businesses (like Starbucks, Feedstore BBQ, Taco Diner and Campania Pizza). Winners will be announced at the Parks and Recreation Board meeting on November 8, 2011 and answers to the hunt will be posted on the website at that time. Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

Geocaching Series

Geocaching is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate the hidden treasures, called geocaches, with a GPS device. There are several geocaches hidden within Southlake’s many parks. Check out www.geocaching.com and search for caches hidden by SLPR to complete the Southlake Parks and Recreation Geocaching Series. Look for the geoaching series to start in early September!
