Carroll ISD’s fourth annual Homecoming Carnival could be bigger than ever. Organizers are busy finalizing preparations for the event scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Dragon Stadium. This year the carnival will be held on the home side of Dragon Stadium, in the parking lot. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. followed by a community pep rally inside the stadium.
The carnival is hosted by the Carroll Student Council. Organizer Courtney Smith says there isn’t a specific theme this year but that the entire event is focusing on what it means to be a Carroll Dragon. There will be food, games and crafts for carnival guests. Some of this year’s vendors include Chick-fil-A as well as funnel cakes and bounce houses. People of all ages are invited to attend and there is no cost to enter the carnival. Vendors interested in participating in the carnival will need to fill out the appropriate application. Immediately following the carnival, guests will enter Dragon Stadium for the Homecoming Pep Rally. The rally is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. New this year, the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced during the pep rally. This event will also include members of the Dragon football team, band, cheerleaders, Emerald Belles and Crew.
The Homecoming Football game is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2011 when the Carroll Dragons host the Fossil Ridge Panthers at Dragon Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Last year, tickets on the home side of Dragon Stadium sold out. ToTo purchase tickets online; click here to visit the Carroll ISD Athletics web page.
Carroll ISD is partnering with Baylor Medical Center and Mike Davis State Farm to be the Promotional Night Sonsors for the evening.
The Homecoming Dance will be held next month. The dance is scheduled for Saturday, October 29 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine.
