Dragon Debate Weekend Results

The Carroll Forensics team had another successful weekend of competitions. Members advanced to the exclusive Tournament of Champions held every spring at the University of Kentucky.

Two Carroll students received bids to the Tournament of Champions after advancing to the final round in Congressional Debate hosted by Yale University this past weekend. Senior Paul Samuel and Junior Megan Schippman were among only twenty students in the final round, which began with 156 participants. Senior Arvind Venkatarman and Sophomore, Kevin O’Brien received recognition for advancing to the semi-final round of the top 48. Senior Sean Armas, advanced to the top 25 in Dramatic Interpretation with over 100 entries.

Senior Michael Kohm and Junior Yashis Singri placed in the top 32 at the Valley Invitational in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. More than 200 students participated in this division.

On the local level, Sophomore Ali Prasla placed second in Congressional Debate at the Mansfield High School Invitations, with 56 competitors.
