Carroll Interns Part of Friday Night Fun

The 2011 school year brought many new challenges to Carroll ISD students, especially those who applied to participate in the CMSI program.

Members of the Carroll Marketing and Sports Information internship play an important role throughout the school year but during football season their hard work and dedication makes the game day production at Dragon Stadium possible.

With the installation of the new video scoreboard at Dragon Stadium in 2010, Carroll ISD staff saw an opportunity to tap students’ talents to assist with production. CMSI interns arrive at the stadium hours before kickoff to inspect video equipment, coordinate sound checks and oversee on field presentations.

The interns assistance before, during and after football games is also getting the attention of the local news media. Recently, WBAP radio posted an article on their website. Click here to read the story.

The CMSI internship is growing in popularity as the program enters its second year. The number of initial applicants at the start of the school year is double compared to last year. Also new in 2011, the program was expanded to the high school campus. Now Carroll ISD students grade 9-12 are eligible to apply. Click here for additional information about the program.
