Recently, the City installed six wayfinding signs along Carroll Avenue and SH 114 frontage road. Wayfinding signs provide valuable information to citizens and visitors, including identifying key destination points throughout Southlake.
The signs are just one component of a larger ‘Wayfinding Sign System Plan’ that was developed as part of the City’s overall Southlake 2030 Plan. The goals of the Wayfinding Signage System are as follows:
The Wayfinding Sign System Plan implementation funding will be primarily through the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) and Strategic Initiative funds. City staff anticipate that additional wayfinding signage along SH 114, FM 1938 and N. White Chapel Boulevard will be constructed in the upcoming 2012 fiscal year. In the future, the City may also install solar lighting fixtures that will externally illuminate the median wayfinding signs along Carroll Avenue.
