Continuing its year-round offerings of programs, Southlake Tennis Center announces its Fall 2011 schedule of adult and junior classes, leagues and Tournament Academy. Southlake Tennis Center is now accepting participants for its fall programs, which begin September 5 and continue through end of year.
USTA Team Tennis is a designed to provide competitive team play for juniors who want to gain more match play experience at the recreational level. Teams are formed by age and ability, with divisions in the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U levels. Players must be between 7-18 years old. Matches are held Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at various sites. Participants must be members of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Registration ends September 2.
Fall Junior Academy Classes will be held for ages 3-16 years old using the USTA QuickStart Program, which uses racquets, balls, courts and nets that are scaled to the size and ability of the student.Players may come once or twice a week for a four-week session. Classes are based on age and ability. Each class will focus on developing the appropriate skills needed to become a competitive tennis player. Classes will work on coordination, agility, footwork, court movement, ball skills and racquet technique. Session one begins September 5.
Fall 2011 Junior Academy Classes:
Fall Tournament Academy is for competitive junior players who are currently playing tournaments in Texas. Players must be actively playing Mid-Cities or ZAT level tournaments to qualify. Coach permission required to attend. Training follows the USTA High Performance Coaching program. All pros working in the invitational workout have high-level junior and collegiate tennis experience and are USPTA certified. Groups are divided by level, age, and effort. A variety of adult leagues are offered based on the player’s current NTRP rating or the level you would play USTA matches/tournaments. Fall leagues run for nine weeks during September, October, and November. Registration deadline is August 26 and league play starts September 5.
