Celebrate Freedom Week

Eubanks Intermediate School will observe “Celebrate Freedom Week” from Monday, September 12 through Friday, September 16, 2011. On Monday, the entire campus is encouraged to wear Red, White, and Blue in remembrance of 9/11.

Also, Eubanks is going to be working with the residents of Southlake’s retirement community Watermere, in a joint venture to provide gift packages for U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan (photo left). Eubanks will collect supplies and the residents of Watermere will write letters to accompany the supplies and send them off to Afghanistan. Eubanks students pictured in the photo are Maxwell Herd, Peter Adams, Kendall DeVage and Brenna Porcarello.

Supplies can be dropped off in donation boxes located outside EIS‘ front office starting Monday, September 12 through Friday, September 30. Items that are need include: toiletries such as Mach 3 razor blade refills, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Hand sanitizer, liquid hand soap and laundry detergent are also needed. The military requests powdered detergent travels best but to send the detergent in Zip-Lock bags to prevent spilling. The following snacks have also been requested: Ramen noodles, Pringles chips, Goldfish crackers, Crystal Light drink packets, pre-mixed tuna packet lunches, M & M’s and other assorted candies. Old magazines are also being accepted.
